On 30 September 2025, Bari hosted “RotTa Digitale – The Transition towards the Future of the Apulian Territory”, the first meeting of the network of Digital Transition Officers (RTDs) from the Metropolitan City, Provinces and Municipalities of Apulia, promoted by the Apulia Region – Digital Transition Department. The event created a long-awaited space for dialogue, where RTDs could share priorities and challenges, and where European cooperation projects such as GOVERNANCE could bring concrete solutions.
Within this framework, the Interreg project GOVERNANCE – Empowerment and simplification processes for a digital and well-governed South Adriatic, led by the Apulia Region – Department for Economic Development, presented its two flagship initiatives, designed precisely for RTDs:
- - DIGITS Survey, developed by the National Interuniversity Consortium for Informatics (CINI) in cooperation with ANCI Puglia, which maps the digital maturity of municipalities and provides essential data to guide innovation policies and strengthen governance capacity;
- - Upskilling for Governance, the Advanced Training Course starting in October, dedicated to municipal employees and aimed at strengthening competences in digitalisation, administrative simplification and the management of EU funds.
By directly engaging RTDs at “RotTa Digitale”, GOVERNANCE has turned strategies into action: collecting evidence through DIGITS, building capacities through training, and strengthening a network that can lead the South Adriatic area towards a modern, inclusive and future-oriented digital transformation.
