The Center of Archaeology, University of Montenegro, in collaboration with the UNESCO International Centre for Underwater Archaeology, Zadar, organizes in Ulcinj, Montenegro a five-day training program from April 7 to 11, 2025, focusing on Underwater Archaeology and Digitization of Underwater Cultural Heritage.
16 participants (8 from Montenegro and 8 from Albania) with backgrounds in archaeology, cultural heritage, diving, or related disciplines can apply by sending a CV to darkok@ucg.ac.me within March 10, 2025.
The program training places a strong emphasis on photogrammetry, enabling attendees to create high-quality 3D models of underwater heritage sites for research, monitoring, and conservation.
It combines theoretical sessions with hands-on exercises. Participants will learn how digital tools can preserve and promote heritage, engage in site documentation through photogrammetry, and apply their skills in controlled diving exercises. The course will be delivered in English language.
The organizer will provide to the selected participants:
- Transportation for Albanian participants
- Accommodation
- Meals (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner)
- Professional equipment (Participants should bring their own laptops).
The training is part of the WRECKS4ALL 2.0 project, cofunded by IPA South Adriatic Programme, which aims to enhance regional expertise in the digital documentation, preservation, and sustainable management of underwater cultural heritage.
