Kick of meeting

TERRITORY project kicks off in Brindisi to boost disaster response in Italy, Albania and Montenegro
Overview

On 4 November 2025, the TERRITORY project officially launched with its Kick-off Meeting in Brindisi (Italy), hosted by the Aerospace Technology Cluster (DTA). Partners from Italy, Albania, and Montenegro gathered to present the project’s objectives, work packages, and upcoming activities.

TERRITORY was developed in response to the urgent need to strengthen disaster preparedness and address the rising risks of climate change and natural hazards in the South Adriatic. Floods, wildfires, and extreme weather events are becoming more frequent, affecting people, infrastructure, and economies. In such a vulnerable region, cooperation and innovation are crucial.

To meet this challenge, the project will deploy drone- and AI-based technologies to enhance disaster prevention, monitoring, and emergency response. These tools will collect real-time data, provide access to remote areas, and support authorities in making faster, better-informed decisions.

Over the next 30 months, TERRITORY will deliver a scalable drone system, an action plan for integrating new technologies into disaster strategies, and pilot demonstrations in real emergency scenarios.

The partnership is led by the Aerospace Technology Cluster (Italy) with Barleti Institute for Research and Development (Albania), Port of Bar JSC (Montenegro), Municipality of Shkodra (Albania), Port Network Authority of the Ionian Sea (Italy), and the Municipality of Pescolanciano (Italy).
