ENERGY project kicks off in Fasano to boost cross-border actions for smarter energy use in the South Adriatic
Overview

On December 4th 2025, the ENERGY project officially launched with its Kick-off Meeting in Fasano (Italy), hosted by the Municipality of Fasano. Partners from Italy, Albania, and Montenegro gathered to present the project’s objectives, work plan, and upcoming cross-border activities.

ENERGY addresses a shared challenge in the South Adriatic: high energy consumption in public and residential buildings and the limited awareness of efficient energy practices. ENERGY aims to improve energy efficiency by analysing consumption patterns, deploying monitoring equipment in selected buildings, and engaging communities in adopting energy-saving behaviours.

During the meeting, partners introduced the three work packages - Assessment and Mapping, Pilot Action Implementation, and Awareness Raising and Capacity Building - setting the foundation for joint guidelines and future cooperation. Over 30 months, ENERGY will deliver real-time monitoring data, pilot demonstrations, training activities, community energy festivals, and a Joint Energy Efficiency Guideline to support long-term sustainable practices.

The partnership includes the Municipality of Fasano (LP, Italy), Municipality of Pietracatella (Italy), Regional Council of Durres (Albania), Municipality of Nikšić (Montenegro), and the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro.
