This November marked the beginning of a new era for the Territory Museum of Foggia, as it embraced a fresh vision driven by creativity, collaboration, and cultural innovation. Through the CREATIVITY – Cultural & Creative Industries for a South Adriatic Identity project, the museum hosted two days of collaborative activities to redesign the Museum’s identity and future role, strengthened by synergies with the Euro-MED project MedDiet GO and the funded project “Transumanti: una comunità in cammino”.

Local institutions, schools, cultural organisations, tourism stakeholders and citizens joined the discussions and took part in thematic workshops and co-design activities.

The conversations explored key themes deeply connected to the territory, such as the social and educational importance of food and the Mediterranean Diet, the recovery and accessibility of meaningful places, and the value of local traditions linked to agriculture, transhumance and community life.

Particular attention was also given to the involvement of young people and new citizens as active contributors to future exhibitions and activities.

This collective effort helped refine a shared Vision for the Museum, which places memory, belonging and Mediterranean identity at its core. It highlights the power of storytelling through community voices and the importance of linking local heritage with contemporary cultural dynamics. All these reflections generated a clear set of ideas and priorities, forming a common “map” that will guide the Museum’s next steps.

The outcomes of the co-design sessions were presented to the Museum’s Scientific Committee, which met in Foggia to refine a strategic document that outlines the Museum’s cultural direction for the coming years and sets the foundations for the redesign of its spaces, programming and educational activities.

Thanks to this integrated approach, among several projects, CREATIVITY, MedDiet GO, and Transumanti, the Territory Museum of Foggia is evolving into a multifunctional, inclusive and participatory space—a place where cultural heritage, creativity and community engagement come together to shape a shared Mediterranean identity.
