
“Connecting the South-Adriatic: establishing a secure, efficient, and resilient connectivity governance”, is the title of Connectivity project, that t has been launched in Bari on 18 July 2024 during the Kick off Meeting, in Puglia Region premise.
The project, funded for six million euro, aims to improve multimodal interconnection within the Southern Adriatic area, acting on the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T Network) and promoting sustainable, green and intelligent mobility, enhancing cooperation and the exchange of skills between the territories involved.
The project is led by Puglia Region - Mobility Infrastructure Section, in cooperation with the Regional Strategic Agency for the eco-sustainable development of the territory (ASSET), the Southern Adriatic Sea Ports Authority (SASPA), which is planning interventions aimed at improving the use and safety of the port of Termoli, Molise Region, the Albanian Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy and the Durres Port Authority and the Montenegrin Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs and the Port of Bar JSC.
Puglia Region has received approximately 2 million euros to fund the technical and economic feasibility project for adapting a portion of the SS 16 street between Mola di Bari and Fasano, with a dynamic lane in line with the Regional Transport Plan approved with DGR n. 1832 dated 07/12/2023. Puglia Region will also develop an ICT platform to update with the most relevant information on the various modes of transport in Puglia and Molise Region, including those relating to the main connecting routes with Albania and Montenegro, so as to strengthen our region's position as the main European hub for connectivity with the Balkans.
The project has a duration of 54 months and it will conclude in December 2027.
