On Friday 28 March, at 8:30 pm, at the AncheCinema in Bari, Puglia Culture presents the silent film "Idillio Infranto" shot in 1931 in Acquaviva delle Fonti and Fasano. A work directed by Nello Mauri, restored in 1996 with the support of the Puglia Region. The event is part of the Interreg Herald project, funded by the Interreg IPA South Adriatic 2021 - 2027 program and is included in the "FuoriBif&st" program.
The film will be previewed the day before, March 27, in Fasano starting at 10:00 in the Community Library of the Municipality, followed by the workshop “Idillio Infranto - The sound of the silent”. The workshop is also scheduled in Bari on March 28 at 09:30 in the Aula C of the Palazzo Ateneo of the University of Bari with the participation of students and teachers of DAMS.
The screening of “Idillio Infranto” will be accompanied by a performance with live music performed by Miriam Lorusso, accompanied by the reciting voice of Domenico Clemente. Director Nico Girasole will guide the entire experience, creating an evocative and engaging atmosphere that will propose the magic of silent cinema in a renewed guise.
The film tells a story that, despite being a product of the silent cinema era, retains a very strong symbolic and cultural value, managing to touch on universal themes through visual language. The restoration by Angelo Amoroso d’Aragona, which took place in 1996, brought the work back to life, enriched by the new soundtrack composed and conducted by Nico Girasole. The event on March 28 represents an extraordinary opportunity to relive the history of cinema, in an atmosphere that blends the charm of the past with contemporary creativity, offering the public an immersive experience in which the silence of the film is harmonized by live music, which becomes the protagonist in recounting the emotions and nuances hidden in the film.
The workshop will be led by some silent cinema experts: Sehad Čekić, full professor of film production at the University of Montenegro, Eno Milkani, professor of film direction, film history and film editing at the Film Academy "Marubi" and the University of Arts in Tirana and from Bari Angelo Amoroso d’Aragona and Nico Girasole.
