The Municipality of Martina Franca is set to host the final conference of the TOUR project on 10 July 2025, (Municipality of Martina Franca headquarters, Piazza Roma 52) marking the culmination of an 18-month Interreg Tour cooperation project between Italy, Albania, and Montenegro to promote sustainable tourism across borders.
Titled “New Horizons of Ecotourism,” the event will celebrate the results of the TOUR project and bring together project partners, institutional representatives, and tourism stakeholders to reflect on the legacy of this ambitious initiative.
Throughout the day, participants will:
- Review the TOUR project’s goals and key achievements;
- Discuss the implementation and outcomes of the Joint Action Plan (JAP), a cross-border planning tool integrating diverse methodologies;
- Officially adopt a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), solidifying a shared commitment to continued cooperation;
- Share and learn from best practices developed across the three countries;
- Join a plenary discussion on how to scale and replicate TOUR’s results in other regions.
With a strong emphasis on practical strategies and long-term impact, the conference will feature insights from local authorities, project partners, and tourism practitioners actively engaged in sustainability and regional development.
As the final official event, the conference will not only highlight the tangible outputs of the TOUR project, but also look ahead—demonstrating how cross-border cooperation can continue to shape the future of ecotourism in the South Adriatic area.
The event is open to stakeholders, public institutions, and professionals working in tourism, sustainability, and local development.
