REGLPORTS, Final Conference on 14 December in Tirana
Overview

REGLPORTS “Nautical Tourism Development and Promotion of Regional Ports” is a project that highlights the importance of Nautical Tourism as an expanded form of tourism. The overall objective of the project is to develop a common model for improving smart and sustainable Nautical Tourism management in the Programme area through integrated development plans. This will improve smart and sustainable development and boost the attractiveness of natural and cultural assets which are related to REGLPORTS ports, increase tourism population, boost financial growth and reduce unemployment at local/regional scale. 

Particularly, this project wants to develop Nautical Tourism in 21 small and medium sized ports. It also aims to link the selected ports with the inland through alternative tourism activities related to natural and cultural assets, sports and leisure activities, archaeological sites and historical monuments, as well as to gastronomy, religion and culture. Also, one of the main objectives is the effective use of smart ICT tools that will substantially upgrade the existing tourism facilities and services. While the main expected outputs of the REGLPORTS project include: operational CBC nautical tourism development plan, pollution monitoring installations, operational platform with common tourism services, REGLPORTS centres established and tools for tourism skills upgrading. 

In this regard, on December 14, 2021 will be organized a Final Conference “Presentation of results, achievements and outputs of REGLPORTS” at Destil Tirana. Due to the pandemic restrictions, the Final Conference will be organized mixing physical and virtual participation of the key stakeholders and partners. Its purpose is to present the Project’s results and achievements. During this Final Conference regarding the REGLPORTS Project, it will be possible to obtain a wider knowledge about the project itself and to give the right visibility to its approach and also its main results as mentioned above. Moreover, this Final Conference aims to reach the necessary involvement of all stakeholders and subjects who are interested in it and directly or indirectly benefit from its results. 

The Final Conference will be organized during the end of the Project’s lifetime, to present the results to the project’s target groups and also to the wider public. National Coastline Agency in Albania, as the Lead Partner of the project will organize the event getting together the key stakeholders and policy makers. In addition, there will be the presence of other partners of the REGLPORTS project such as: representatives of Municipality of Molfetta, Municipality of Termoli, Union of the Provinces of Puglia, Ministry of Tourism and Environment of Albania, Agency for the management of the town Harbour Herceg Novi. 

All together, Lead Partner and other partners will share their results, achievements and outputs of REGLPORTS project during the Final Conference on December 14, 2021 at Destil Tirana, Albania.
