BIOTOURS, Albanian delegation visit at Ketos in Taranto
Overview

Jonian Dolphin Conservation continues to share good practices with international players. The Lead Partner in the BioTours Project, implemented as part of the Interreg IPA CBC Italy-Albania-Montenegro programme, co-financed by the European Union and managed by the Puglia Region with the participation of Molise, Albania and Montenegro, crossed path with the Albanian delegation on a mission to the Ionian capital for an orientation visit linked to the creation and management of the Zvërnec ecomuseum.

The project "Towards the Ecomuseum of Zvërnec” is a practical tool to promote nature, culture and adventure in the Protected Area of Vjosë-Nartë, implemented as part of the Green AL 1 project, by the consortium of local NGOs, CERCI, ASTER and Vjosa Explorer and supported by CO-PLAN, Vis Albania, COSV, CISP, funded by SIDA.

The meeting was a moment of discussion between Jonian Dolphin Conservation representatives and the representatives of the Municipality of Vlore, AdZM of Vlore and local NGOs, which are part of the partnership for the construction and implementation of the Ecomuseum.

During the exchange the youth cams held in the BioTourS Project were discussed, where the association visited with the boat “Il Porto di Taranto” the Adriatic Sea, in Bari, Kotor (Montenegro) and Valona (Albania). The Albanian delegation was inspired by the BioTourS objective of creating and promoting intelligent and sustainable economic development by leveraging natural assets as an attraction for new tourist flows.
