b-solutions Initiative Supports European Border Regions
Overview

The European Commission and the Association of European Border Regions (AEBR) have launched the b-solutions initiative, aiming to improve cooperation in border regions,  which are home to around 150 million Europeans, almost one third of the EU population.

By addressing legal and administrative obstacles, b-solutions seeks to enhance cross-border collaboration in areas such as institutional cooperation, public services, labour market and education, and the European Green Deal.

The initiative invites public bodies and cross-border structures to submit cases highlighting obstacles hindering cooperation along the maritime and land border between IPA countries (Turkey, Albania, Montenegro, Serbia, the Republic of North Macedonia, Bosnia-Herzegovina) and EU countries.

Selected cases will receive expert assistance in identifying solutions. Participation complements Interreg funding and can benefit cooperation in the regions of an Interreg Programme, especially to improve access to joint public services and governance across the borders

Applications can be submitted online in any EU language until 10 November 2023
