Overview

The event "Cooperation among the ports of the lower Adriatic and the upper Ionian: from Interreg 2014/2020 to 2021/2027”, organised by the Port System Authority of the Southern Adriatic Sea (AdSPMAM), will be held on 21 June 2022 from 9:30 to 13:15 at the Cruise Terminal of the Port of Bari.

The initiative, starting from a comparison on the results achieved in the maritime and port sector through the various Interreg projects of the 2014-2020 period, aims to promote future cooperation between the ports involved (Dubrovnik, Bar, Durres, Valona, Igoumenitsa, Corfu, Termoli, Taranto and the Apulian ports of the southern Adriatic Sea) and to face the challenges and opportunities of the 2021-2027 programming period.

The introduction by Ugo Patroni Griffi - President of AdSPMAM, will be followed by speeches by Silvia Comiati – JS Coordinator of the Interreg V-A Italy-Croatia, Mauro Novello – JS Coordinator of the Interreg IPA South Adriatic and Gianfranco Gadaleta – JS Coordinator of the Interreg V-A Greece-Italy.

During the event, a Memorandum of Understanding will be signed between the ports of the lower Adriatic and the upper Ionian, through which the parties intend to lay the foundations for new cooperation projects and development opportunities, also through the establishment of a cross-border association.

The event is organised within the projects GUTTA, INTESA, SUSPORT, PROMARES, funded by Interreg V-A Italy-Croatia, and EFINTIS, funded by Interreg IPA CBC Italy-Albania-Montenegro.
