
Eurelations GEIE, partner of the WRECKS4ALL 2.0 project, is organising a two-days event in Termoli (Italy) to encourage the development of archaeological and underwater heritage tourism in Molise by leveraging the cross-border cooperation with the University of Montenegro (Lead Partner), the University of Salento and the Municipality of Vlora, and by jointly exploring innovative approaches and best practices of this emerging sector.
The events are organized with a view to improve tourism destination management in Molise and in the south Adriatic region promoting new technologies and approaches and showcasing knowledge gained and best practices identified by the project.
Molise, with its rich yet still little-known archaeological coastal heritage, represents an extraordinary opportunity to develop a tourism offer that integrates underwater heritage with the region's historical and cultural resources.
On 27 March Eurelations will organise the B2B Meeting “ReDISCOVERING UNDERWATER CULTURAL HERITAGE”. The meeting will be held from 13:45 to 20:00 (CET) and will be hosted by the Cala Sveva Beach Club, Lungomare Cristoforo Colombo 39/E – 86039, Termoli (IT).
The B2B meeting is designed to encourage collaboration among regional ICT/VR technology companies, tourism service providers, and economic operators involved in the development of the maritime sector. It will aim at highlighting cutting-edge digital solutions and services for promoting archaeological tourism, with a special focus on underwater heritage.
Through interactive presentation sessions and a dedicated demonstration area, participants will have the opportunity to directly explore advanced technologies and services from the digital and creative industries. These solutions will be showcased for their role in developing sustainable and engaging tourism proposals that leverage cultural heritage as an attractive resource.
On 28 March, from 09:30 to 16.30 (CET), Eurelations will organise the Conference “Archaeological Tourism in the South Adriatic area. Underwater Prospects”. The event will take place at the University of Molise, Sala Adriatico, Via Duca degli Abruzzi, 67 – 86039 Termoli (IT).
The Conference will focus on the development of archaeological tourism in the South Adriatic area, with particular emphasis on underwater heritage. It will explore innovative approaches and best practices for enhancing submerged cultural heritage as a resource for sustainable tourism.
The Conference will thematically cover the following topics:
- Case studies and success stories in enhancing underwater archaeological tourism in other regions, applicable to the Molise context.
- Sustainable tourism models for archaeological heritage in Molise, focusing on submerged resources.
- Conservation and management of archaeological sites and their integration into regional tourism strategies.
- Engagement of local communities and stakeholders in enhancing archaeological and underwater tourism in Molise.
- Regulatory frameworks and planning tools to protect and promote Molise's heritage.
- Innovative technologies for mapping, documenting, and promoting underwater archaeological heritage.
- Education and awareness strategies to increase interest in underwater archaeological tourism.
The conference will attract scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss innovative approaches and best practices for safeguarding and promoting the Adriatic's underwater cultural heritage.
