The INTERFIDE-AB 2.0 project, "Fostering Interfaith Dialogue and Enhancing Cross-border Religious Tourism - Area Brand 2.0," is set to accelerate its activities with two crucial incoming missions. These events, held in Albania and Montenegro, aim to forge a stronger cross-border network for sustainable and interfaith tourism, promoting cultural understanding and peace in the South Adriatic region.
Funded by the European Union under the Interreg IPA South Adriatic Programme 2021-2027, INTERFIDE-AB 2.0 is a pioneering initiative. Its core objective is to develop a unique "Area Brand" for religious tourism, fostering a more sustainable and inclusive travel experience that encourages dialogue and mutual respect among diverse communities.
The upcoming "Incoming Missions" are designed as dynamic platforms to engage key stakeholders, including travel agencies, tour operators, students, and public and private sector managers. These meetings will facilitate discussions on innovative ways to promote the cross-border religious tourism brand and introduce the INTERFIDE model as a practical solution for regional development and peace-building.
The first mission will take place in Tirana, Albania, on June 4, 2025, at the Tirana International Hotel - Sala Blue, Skanderberg Square. Following this, the second mission will be held in Nikšić, Montenegro, on June 5, 2025, at Hotel Yougoslavia. These events are vital opportunities to connect insiders and expand participation within the growing cross-border network.
These incoming missions are more than just meetings; they are foundational steps in building bridges through tourism. By bringing together diverse voices and expertise, we are not only enhancing religious tourism but also actively contributing to cultural dialogue and mutual understanding across borders.
The INTERFIDE-AB 2.0 project is a collaborative effort led by CDQ Italia Formazione (Italy), with key partners including the Municipality of Tirana (Albania), the Diocese of Budimlja and Nikšić (Montenegro), and EuRelations European Economic Interest Grouping (Italy).
