CrossWater+ is a European project funded by the Interreg IPA South Adriatic 2021–2027 programme. It aims to develop a more integrated, efficient, and sustainable water management system in the cross-border areas between Italy, Albania, and Montenegro.

Running from February 2024 to July 2025, the project has addressed key challenges such as water pollution caused by economic activities and waste production. CrossWater+ has employed innovative training methods and awareness-raising campaigns to promote environmental protection and sustainable practices.

The project has been carried out through a strong cross-border partnership between:

  • AQP – Acquedotto Pugliese (Italy)
  • Tirana Water and Sewerage Utility (Albania)
  • Regional Waterworks for Montenegrin Coast (Montenegro)

Key project milestones have included seminars, a pilot training programme, and targeted public awareness campaigns. The initiative concludes with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the partner organisations, laying the foundation for future cooperation and long-term sustainability of shared water governance.
