The Port of Bar is continuing to modernize its infrastructure and improve cross-border transport as part of the Connectivity Project.
A major step is the creation of a new multipurpose parking area. This area will reduce congestion, organize traffic better, and speed up import and export procedures. It will mainly serve cargo vehicles, trailers, and Roll on-Roll off cargo, helping goods move faster and making the logistics chain smoother.
Since the Port of Bar is a transit port for regional markets, this new parking area will give trucks a dedicated space, relieve internal traffic, and improve overall flow inside the port.
Alongside this, the project is boosting port safety with modern video surveillance and Near Field Communication NFC-powered locks, improving access control and monitoring.
The project also includes investments in environmental protection and the preparation of technical plans, such as feasibility studies and main designs, supporting the port’s long-term sustainable development.
With these upgrades, and thanks to support from the Interreg IPA South Adriatic Programme, the Port of Bar is moving toward a modern, efficient, safe, and sustainable future.
