Two ground-breaking initiatives promoted by Cooperation and Development Institute (CDI), National Youth Congress of Albania and Youth Manifesto, are driving positive change by empowering youth and fostering innovation. These initiatives provide young people with opportunities to contribute ideas, develop skills, and make a meaningful impact on society. With a focus on territorial cooperation and the creative economy, they provide supportive environments where young individuals can thrive.
In this context, two projects of the Interreg IPA CBC Italy-Albania-Montenegro 2014-20 have contributed to this cause: CIRCE, Common Initiatives to Promote Cinema across Italy – Albania – Montenegro, and Biotours, Biodiversity and Tourism Strategy to protect cetaceans.
CIRCE project aims to promote the cinematic industry in the programme area while fostering territorial cooperation and empowering youth. The project brought together the Albanian National Center of Cinematography and their counterparts in Italy and Montenegro, providing an exceptional opportunity for aspiring young directors and producers to collaborate in an international environment. In January 2023, the National Youth Congress of Albania, in partnership with the Cooperation and Development Institute, visited the Albanian National Center of Cinematography. This visit highlighted the tangible impact of CIRCE and emphasized the importance of fostering creative initiatives across borders.
On the other hand, the project BioTours, which focuses on sustainable cross-border tourism and the preservation of the Adriatic-Ionian region's natural heritage, hosted in June the Cooperation and Development Institute during its tour entitled “Raising awareness on the Youth Manifesto in the Western Balkans”. The Institute team visited the Biotours Dolphin Center (Natural History Museum of Montenegro, Podgorica) which through the integration of interactive and immersive elements has become a popular destination for young visitors.
By prioritizing territorial cooperation and youth empowerment, these initiatives and projects pave the way for a brighter future, inspiring creativity, and promoting sustainable practices.
