Overview

Two important events for Cross Water project in Montenegro.

On 14 June 2021 the first press conference and the first local participatory workshop were held  with  participation of important institutional representatives. 

They were both attended by Executive Director, Mr Goran Jevric and Technical Director, Mr Ivan Špadijer of Regional Water Supply Company Montenegrin Coastline. They were also attended by Minister of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urban Development - Mr Ratko Mitrovic, and a representative from E3 Consulting - water expert  -  Mr Goran Radonjic, Water Directorate of Montenegro, and other relevant Montenegrin institutions and water consultants and expert. 

Representatives of Montenegrin media were present at the press conference, whereby they recorded significant parts of the event and subsequently published 36 media reports in 25 printed newspapers and electronic media.

The Local Participatory Workshop was dedicated to the pilot project “Monitoring, control and protection of the regional water supply source ‘Bolje sestre’”, which is being implemented as part of the Interreg IPA CBC Italy-Albania-Montenegro programme.  

Hereby, participants were informed about completion of the first project activity which is related to establishment of rainfall and GW monitoring network, resulted in development of plan and draft technical specifications. Additionally, the participants were informed about the two upcoming project activities: establishment of II sanitary protection zone, which is going to result in map with delineated zones I, II and III and programme of protection measures; and techno-economic study for expanding water capture capacity, which is going to result in development of hydrogeological map, supplementary source data, feasibility studies.
