The final conference of the WRECKS4ALL 2.0 project, titled Digital Heritage: Innovative Tools and Strategies for Outreach, will be held on 18 July 2025 at the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro in Podgorica. The event will bring together researchers, practitioners, and institutional representatives from the South Adriatic region to examine current approaches to the digital documentation and promotion of cultural heritage, with a particular focus on submerged archaeological sites.
The conference will present a range of thematic contributions addressing 3D documentation, virtual and augmented reality, digital storytelling, community engagement, and sustainable cultural tourism. It will also explore mechanisms for strengthening cross-border cooperation in heritage management. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with digital applications developed within the project, including immersive virtual reality experiences that illustrate new ways of interpreting and communicating underwater heritage.
A key component of the programme will be the presentation of the regional adaptation of the WRECKS4ALL Action Plan. This strategic document has been developed to address the specific needs and priorities of South Adriatic coastal areas. It proposes participatory approaches to planning, integrated models of destination management, and the considered application of digital technologies in heritage promotion. By bringing together diverse perspectives and practical experiences, the conference aims to contribute to wider regional and European efforts in the field of digital heritage, sustainable development, and cultural cooperation.
WRECKS4ALL 2.0, co-funded by the Interreg IPA South Adriatic Programme, builds upon the foundation established by the original WRECKS4ALL project. It aims to enhance accessibility and visibility of underwater cultural heritage by introducing and adapting digital tools, and by promoting cross-border cooperation and knowledge exchange. The project has specifically targeted the South Adriatic area, supporting the integration of innovative practices within local and regional heritage frameworks.
