Interreg ENTAIL celebrates Music tradition and innovation in Molise
Overview

The Aulico-Opera & Musica association is proud to announce the final conference of ENTAIL project, an initiative funded by the European Union under the Interreg IPA South Adriatic Programme 2021–2027. The project’s main goal is to preserve, study, and promote the rich musical traditions of the South Adriatic region. ENTAIL focuses on exploring the interregional musical and ethnological repertoire, including the diverse cultural influences—such as Islamic contributions—that have shaped the popular music of Italy, Albania, and Montenegro.

Last September, the Italian partner Aulico-Opera & Musica organized a five-day Academy in Molise, focusing on the construction of the traditional “zampogna molisana” under the guidance of Maestro Piero Ricci. The fruits of this work will be showcased in the final event on Friday, January 10, 2025.

The event will feature, among others, Aldo Iezza and Daniele Romano, students of the conservatory, and Spedino Moffa and Cristian Di Fiore, extraordinary performers of the new bagpipe.

The conference will feature performances of musical pieces, including those played on the zampogna instruments crafted during the Academy. The event will be held in two villages in Molise: Sesto Campano in the morning and Scapoli in the afternoon, offering a mix of cultural education and immersive experiences.
