INTERREG IPA SOUTH ADRIATIC, new funding opportunities at the horizon!
Overview

A new programme for renewed cross-border cooperation!

We are glad to announce that the 2021-27 Italy-Albania-Montenegro Programme – with the new name Interreg IPA South Adriatic – has been submitted today to the European Commission.

The Programme will offer new funding opportunities to public and non-profit players in the cross-border area between Italy, Albania and Montenegro, in order to promote economic, social and territorial development, and improve the life of people around the Southern Adriatic Sea.

The preparations for the Interreg IPA South Adriatic began in November 2019 with the establishment of a Task Force to supervise the overall progress of programming, and to make decisions on the content of the future Programme.  The Task force, composed of delegates from the three partner countries and assisted by the Managing Authority and the Joint Secretariat,  worked hard to identify territorial needs and joint challenges, and define the Programme strategy.

Moreover, public consultations were launched and partnership meetings were held in order to gather stakeholders’ views on priorities and actions that could be taken to improve community welfare. This intense participation process led in September 2020 to the final draft of the 2021-27 Cooperation Programme.

The European Commission is now evaluating the Programme and may formulate observations within 3 months, and then adopt it within five months from the presentation.

Stay tuned! We look forward to sharing our new cooperation ideas!
