ISACC PLUS Final Conference: The New Frontiers of Logistics and Transport - Driving Change with Emerging Technologies
Overview

On July 15 2025, ITS Academy Mobilità organises an high-level event titled "The New Frontiers of Logistics and Transport: Driving Change with Emerging Technologies", held in collaboration with Aeroporti di Puglia and the Transport and Logistics Section of Confindustria Bari and Barletta-Andria- Trani. The event is part of the INTERREG IPA South Adriatic project "ISACC+: Innovative Systems to Accomplish Secure Cross-border Controls and will take place at the Green Hall of Aeroporti di Puglia in Bari, Italy.

The initiative will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, researchers and innovators to explore the transformative role of technology in shaping the future of logistics and transport in the South Adriatic area, with a focus on Italy, Albania and Montenegro.

The event is the result of a collaborative effort involving the ISACC+ partners dedicated to advancing regional cooperation and technological innovation: UNISALENTO (University of Salento), the University of Montenegro and University of Durres Aleksandër Moisiu.

The full day event aims to foster dialogue and share knowledge on how emerging technologies can enhance efficiency, sustainability and competitiveness in the transport and logistics sectors.

The first session “Regulatory Frameworks, Policies and Skills Development” will focus on the evolving legal and policy landscape surrounding mobility and logistics, with particular attention to initiatives supporting digitalization and green transition. It will also highlight the importance of education and training in developing the human capital needed to drive innovation.

The second session “Emerging Technologies and Their Impact on Logistics and Transport” will explore the practical applications of cutting-edge technologies, such as artificial intelligence, automation, smart infrastructure and advanced data systems. Experts from academia and research institutions will offer insights into the opportunities and challenges posed by these innovations.

The final session of the day “Smart Solutions: Case Studies and Best Practices” will present real-world examples of intelligent solutions currently being implemented by companies in the logistics and transport sectors. The goal is to showcase success stories and encourage the adoption of scalable and innovative practices across the industry.

The conference not only provides a platform for knowledge sharing and discussion but also fosters networking opportunities among key stakeholders in the logistics and transport sectors. Participants will have the chance to engage with experts, explore the latest technological advancements and discuss collaborative strategies for driving digital transformation in the South Adriatic region.

This initiative underscores the strategic importance of logistics and transport in the context of sustainable development and technological advancement, while positioning the South Adriatic as a hub for dialogue and collaboration at the intersection of policy, innovation and industry.
