MONET, Exchange programme for artists in Cetinje, Montenegro
Overview

The Ministry of Culture, within the realization of the Interreg IPA project MONET, in cooperation with the National Museum, organized a biweekly exchange programme for artists from Montenegro, Italy and Albania, which was realized in Cetinje. 

Participants were Manuel Iallonardi, Alessandro Vangi, Jelena Pavicevic and Amir Xhakoviq. During their stay in Montenegro artists produced four works that were inspired by Montenegrin cultural heritage and presented them at the national exhibition “Production error” organized at the Ministry of Culture of Montenegro and National museum. 

Within the realization of the Interreg IPA project MONET, seven exchange programmes with participation of 28 artists, will be held in Montenegro, Albania and Italy. Participating institutions are National Museum of Montenegro, Centre for Contemporary Art, Pino Pascali Foundation (Polignano a Mare, Puglia, Italy), Ribezzo Archaeological Museum (Brindisi, Puglia, Italy), ARATRO - Archive of Electronic Art and Laboratory of Contemporary Art, University of Molise (Campobaso, Molize, Italy), National Gallery of Art Tirana (Albania) and National Museum of Photography "Marubi" (Shkoder, Albania).

MONET project is funded under the first call of the Interreg IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Italy-Albania-Montenegro. The main objective of the project is to create a network of museums and cultural sites and to promote natural and cultural heritage through the valorization of museums in terms of management, infrastructure and services. The Ministry of Culture of Montenegro is lead partner, while  project partners from Italy are the Pino Pascali Museum, ARATRO University of Molise and the Region of Puglia, and from Albania Ministry of Culture and the Marubi Photography Museum. The associated partner is the Municipality of Lecce.
