The first OPEN TOURISM workshop "Prioritization of the Blue Economy for the coastal countries of the region" was held on 1 June 2021 at the  Mak Albania Hotel in Tirana.

OPEN TOURISM aims at involving local operators in providing information and support to visitors and developing fruitful relations with them. This will be achieved through the organisation of workshops on several topics that will enhance the business and personal competences of participants.

Mrs. Klodiana Gorica, the expert of Marketing and Tourism at the University of Tirana, introduced the concept of Blue Economy and Travel Destination Management, the definition of Blue Economy, how to involve Tourism, the economic principles of blue economy and legislation, international organizations and actors involved in the blue economy.

Mr. Bilali, the executive director of CEDIR, presented the OPEN TOURISM project and its products. Also, he mentioned the current situation in tourism and risks. He outlined some of the problems and solutions to them.

The stakeholders were really interested on the APP that was launched, freely downloadable and active also off-line. 

In the end, the OPEN TOURISM staff distributed a questionnaire about the project. Finally, stakeholders discussed the challenges of tourism and how to find a solution.

The second workshop will be held on 18t June 2021.
