SMART ADRIA Blue Growth: The story of places and ideas of local development
Overview

On 5 July 2022 "The story of places and ideas of local development" took place in Termoli, a public placetelling event that is part of SMART ADRIA Blue Growth, an interregional development project involving Albania, Montenegro and the Italian representatives, Puglia and Molise.

After an initial meeting linked to the institutional world and small and medium-sized enterprises in the area (Trend-watching event), followed by a second meeting dedicated to higher education (Spring School), the professors of the University of Molise met the citizenship and narrated the city of Termoli in a completely unusual way, that  could be definite as "starting from the places".

The walk started from the Photographer's Belvedere, near the Swabian Castle, and continued through the streets of the medieval village. After a stop at the lighthouse, they reached the spiral staircase from which they got to the port. From there, passing through the pedestrian promenade of Rio Vivo, they arrived at Circolo della Vela where they talked about the environment and local communities of the coastal areas.

Finally, the participants tasted some typical products related to the territory. The initiative, that is promoted by the regional cooperation program (INTERREG IPA - Italy, Albania Montenegro) and led by UNIMOL professors from the Department of Biosciences and Territories and Envixlab, intends to promote the sustainable blue economy through the development of all those sustainable activities that are linked to the coast and the sea.
