Sports and tourism representatives gathered on one place by CASTER project
Overview

Representatives from sports associations, tourism operators, and local governments from Albania, Montenegro and Italy were gathered in Tirana for 2 events organised by EuroPartners Development, in the framework of CASTER project.

An Institutional Seminar “A Shared Strategy for the Development of Sports Tourism in the Lower Adriatic” was organized on 23 September 2021. Three partners countries presented Sports Tourism Promotion Plan. Another interested topic of the seminar was the Innovative concepts for transnational sport events.

While the last event of the CASTER project was the Conference held on 24 September 2020 “Innovation, Creativity and Transnational Collaboration for the New Frontiers of Sports Tourism”. The event gathered the representatives of the public institutions to discuss regarding the strategies for the development of sport tourism activities in the programming area and new transnational initiatives and the new proposals for transnational tourism itineraries emerged from CASTER institutional seminar.

The overall objective of CASTER was to implement actions geared to innovating sustainable sport tourism by boosting the attractiveness of natural and cultural assets, thus contributing to the economic development of the involved territories. This was achieved through conferences focused on the valorisation of sport tourism destinations, technical workshops aimed at building a winning strategy and drafting innovative cross-border cycling and sailing tourism itineraries, as well as institutional seminars, and B2B meetings targeted to public and private tourism stakeholders.
