Our workshop at #EURegionsWeek: Empowering Interreg through Simplified Cost Options
Overview

Interreg IPA South Adriatic is gearing up to present an enlightening workshop titled "Focusing on concrete results, instead of papers: Empowering Interreg in the simplification drive”, scheduled for 10 October 2023, from 16:30 to 17:30 CET at Room 314-316, SQUARE Convention Centre, Mont des Arts, Brussels.

This event, a part of the European Week of Regions, continues our journey to promote efficiency, transparency, and cross-border collaboration within Interreg programmes.

Our main goal: Simplified Cost Options (SCOs) have the power to transform the Interreg landscape by significantly reducing administrative burdens. They allow beneficiaries to focus on delivering tangible results while enabling programme bodies to concentrate their efforts on verifying concrete outputs rather than drowning in paperwork.

Our distinguished speakers

  • Gilles Kittel, from the European Commission  - DG Regio, will moderate the debate.
  • Kristina Kuzmanova and Veronica Cotea, from DG Regio, will share insights on SCOs in ESI Funds.
  • Grzegorz Golda, from Interact Programme, will provide valuable perspectives on SCOs in Interreg.
  • Aurora Losacco, from South Adriatic Joint Secretariat will offer insights on the adoption of SCOs.

A better understanding of SCOs This workshop promises to deliver a better understanding of the use and verification of SCOs through practical examples. You'll have the opportunity to reflect on how these options contribute to the ongoing simplification efforts, particularly as we approach the 2027+ debate. The discussion will cover both the advantages and potential challenges of implementing SCOs, illustrated with specific examples from Interreg programmes.

Collaborative effort: This event is a collaborative effort between Interreg IPA South Adriatic and the European Commission - DG REGIO. It's designed to be an English-language workshop, fostering constructive discussions on simplification's role in shaping the future of Interreg programmes.
