The TRADAM's Project Roadmap on transports data integration
Overview

In order to promote the creation of a cooperation environment involving experts from several transport fields, the TRADAM project organized some events, in Italy and Albania, during which people shared and create new knowledge on transport assets data management. This project is co-financed by the European Union under the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA II) and is part of the Interreg IPA CBC Italy-Albania-Montenegro Programme.

The “Roadmap on transports data integration" serves as a dissemination tool and provides  guidelines for different categories of stakeholders.

In a world characterized by a wide digitalization of contents and activities, the need of movement of persons and goods remains relevant, and is growing exponentially, also thanks to new services and available technologies, as well as to lower costs and time for reaching a place or getting a specific product. In this scenario, transport systems play a relevant role, and have to be considered as an integrated set of different assets (e.g. for an airport: airstrip, control towers, radars, checking gates, and so on), which are combined together in order to reach benefits in terms of quality, sustainability, safety, and security.

For many transport assets, there is a large availability of data, and appropriate management techniques have to be applied, in order to grasp the hidden potentiality behind data flow, as well as to provide useful information for addressing different actions. Data generated by different sources available in the asset of a transport network can be used to improve the services’ quality, optimize the operational sustainability, and define strategies focused on safety and security issues related to a specific transport system.
