Tirana Hosts Accompanying Action of the FAME CLUSTER Project to Boost Digital Movie Tourism in the South Adriatic Region
Overview

The Municipality of Tirana hosted the Accompanying Action of the FAME CLUSTER Project on June 30 – July 1, 2025, in Tirana, Albania. This two-day event is part of the wider FAME CLUSTER initiative, co-financed by the Interreg IPA South Adriatic Programme, which aims to promote Digital Movie Tourism as a catalyst for preserving and enhancing cultural and natural heritage across cross-border territories.

The event brought together professionals, creatives, and tourism actors from Albania, Italy, and Montenegro to explore how digital storytelling and cinematic tools can support sustainable tourism development. Through a mix of interactive sessions, group work, and hands-on exercises, participants developped skills in designing marketing strategies, building editorial plans, and crafting place-based narratives.

One of the main activities focused on the creation of an editorial concept under the theme “The Journey of a Food Traveller”, demonstrating how elements such as local identity, gastronomy, sustainability, and cinematic storytelling can be woven together to promote destinations in innovative ways.

The agenda included contributions from professionals involved in the FAME CLUSTER project and regional creative sectors. Among those contributing to the sessions are representatives from the Municipality of Tirana, the University of Tirana, and creative experts from Albania, Italy (Molise and Puglia), and Montenegro.

The event concluded with the presentation of group work and a collaborative exchange on the most effective concepts developed, fostering regional dialogue and the sharing of good practices.

The FAME CLUSTER Project continues to strengthen cross-border cooperation by empowering local actors to use digital media and film-inspired storytelling to support tourism, heritage, and cultural vibrancy in the South Adriatic area.
