TRADAM, on 23 July in Lecce the "Transport Data Management Conference"
Overview

The "Transport Data Management Conference" will be held in Lecce, hosted by Officine Cantelmo, on Friday on 23 July, starting at 9.15 am. The Conference is organised by the University of Salento within the the TRADAM project, which is part of the Interreg IPA CBC Italy-Albania-Montenegro Programme.

Institutional representatives of the Puglia Region, the University of Salento, and the Union of Albanian Chambers of Commerce are partners in the project and they will attend the Conference together with several leading companies in the transport sector. Prof. Bondavalli (University of Florence) and Prof. Damiani (University of Milan) will introduce the topics of the two sessions.

The conference will explore the role of data in the transport sector, which is a fundamental factor in the extraction of value from the efficient use of resources. Value is not only an economic dimension, but also experiential, social, and environmental. This is true at global and local levels, especially for those sectors that are a basis for the economic development of Apulian and Albanian territories: agri-food, transport of fresh products, tourism, and cultural heritage.

Factors such as multi- or inter-modality, safety, security, and sustainability represent new objectives realised by an appropriate use of data. In fact, the current global situation is making manifest that an adeguate data management must combine with data availability and different networks for transporting people and goods form interconnected systems. The “Transport Data Management Conference” aims at highlighting these connections, involving both Academic expertise on technological aspects, as well as experts in the different sectors of maritime, land, rail, and air transport.

The conference will be streamed live on the project's Facebook channel and represents an opportunity for stakeholders to raise awareness of these issues and to develop a common ground for discussion. The event will strengthen the human network that can contribute to strategies for digital and infrastructure networks.
