The Municipality of Ugento, lead partner of the BLUEFLAG project – “Enhance cooperation between private and public institutions for an efficient management to raise criteria standards for Blue Flag award in the region” – funded by the Interreg IPA South-Adriatic 2021/2027 Programme, will host the Incoming Mission entitled “Presentation of the good practices implemented by the Municipality of Ugento as part of the process for obtaining the Blue Flag” on 19th June 2025.
This incoming mission will bring together tourism operators from Albania, Montenegro, Puglia, and Molise with the goal of raising awareness among key stakeholders about the potential of the Blue Flag certification as a strategic tool for sustainable coastal development.
The event will provide an opportunity to showcase local best practices through study visits to strategic coastal areas of the territory and to the Regional Natural Park of Ugento and will conclude with exchange sessions and discussions among professionals and tourism operators.
The incoming mission represents a key milestone for the project, not only in terms of transferring knowledge and showcasing successful governance models, but also for building a cross-border network of cooperation focused on environmental protection, sustainable coastal tourism, and the development of a shared perspective around environmental quality and service standards.
