The Interreg “Soft Mobility” project has officially concluded, marking an important step in the promotion of sustainable and inclusive tourism across the Adriatic.
Funded under the Interreg IPA South Adriatic programme, the initiative focused on developing soft and sustainable mobility through targeted training activities involving university students, recent graduates, and tourism operators.
Led by the Pro Loco of Triggiano, in the role of Lead Partner and represented by President Carmela Cipriani, the project was developed in collaboration with the Department of Economics, Management and Business Law (DEMDI) of the University of Bari “Aldo Moro”. A key contribution also came from the Albanian association QZHDI – Qendra Zhvillimit Human dhe Integrimit, represented by Professor Ilir Aliaj, who actively took part in both the training and the final event.
The heart of the project was the intensive course “How to Plan a Slow & Sustainable Tourist Itinerary”, held from July 7 to 11, 2025, at the University of Bari “Aldo Moro” (Cassandro Lecture Hall – DEMDI). Each session ran from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM and provided participants with tools and methodologies to design tourism experiences based on slow mobility, inclusion, environmental awareness, and local cultural heritage.
The course combined theory and practice through interactive sessions, workshops, and transnational exchanges between Italian and Albanian participants, creating a vibrant space for learning and innovation.
The “Soft Mobility” project is part of the broader vision of the Interreg IPA South Adriatic Programme, which supports cooperation between Italy, Albania, and Montenegro to foster sustainable development, enhance cultural and natural heritage, and promote innovation and education across borders.
